Brook Trout return to Aquetong Creek!

Since Solebury township removed the dam at Aquetong spring in 2015, the creek is again suitable to support trout. On April 29 2017, 12 chapter members, organized and led by Kevin Randall and Jeff Neamand caught 50 brook trout from two tributaries of the Lehigh River and successfully moved them to Aquetong Creek. These are the first brook trout to inhabit the creek since they were likely extirpated in the 19th century. (The dam was built in the 1870s and there were numerous mill dams before this that likely rendered the creek unsuitable for brook trout.) See the Aquetong pages in the Conservation section of the website for more info.
