Field Day a Success!

On September 10, BCTU introduced about 100 kids to Fly Tying and Fly Casting. The Bucks County Fish and Game Association “Field Day” was an opportunity for kids age 8-16 to learn about fishing, hunting, trapping, shooting and other outdoor sports.
We had about 8 guys there working patiently all day to give instruction to the kids as they came through in groups of about 14-16 every hour. Most kids tied a wooly worm, but a few already knew the basics, so they got a little more advanced instruction. And we had them casting about 25-40 feet on the lawn within about 20 minutes.
It was great fun!
